Venus Transit Workshop

Introduction

Don't miss the opportunity to observe the transit of Venus on 08 June 2004 from Jordan! The AUASS and JAS are organizing a workshop for this purpose! The workshop includes a one-day scientific session in Amman to discuss the importance of this event as well as a description of the event itself! Also, the participants are welcome to present their papers in this session! Then the participants will travel to the desert to observe the event from there! Where the possibility of clouds is almost ZERO! Also, NEVER miss observing the sky at night from the desert, where our visitors are always impressed by the magnificence of our clear and dark sky! In addition, several excursions to some of the Jordanian ruins are included in the program!

Participation & Language

Participation of amateurs, astronomers, scientists, and interested persons from all countries is welcome for developing the international cooperation. Official languages of the workshop are Arabic and English.

- Accommodation: Amman / Grand Palace Hotel (4-Star Hotel).
- Scientific Sessions: Amman / Regency Hotel. (5-Star Hotel).
- Camping: Al-Azraq Desert (150 Km East of Amman).
